Meta Platforms, Inc., does business as Meta. It was formerly named Facebook, Inc., which is an American multinational technology. It has associated with Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and other services.

Facebook was founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, along with his friends Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes. It is a social media platform that provides a way to many of us to get connected with our family and friends. Facebook rebranded itself to Meta Platforms Inc. in October 2021.

Mark Zuckerberg was born in White Plains, New York. He grew up in Dobbs Ferry with his siblings in New York. He went to Ardsley High School and was fluent in French. He was a very clever student and got many achievements in his academic career. He went to Harvard for the class of 2006 and was pursuing degrees in Psychology and Computer Science.

He also created a website name Facemash, which opened a source for students to share and rate photos. Though it was shut down by the university, it inspired him to launch the most popular platform - Facebook. He received prizes in Science and classical studies. It was the year 1998 when he launched the first computer program. As he was very much involved in computers when since 12 years of his age and built a message network for his fathers dentist office called Zucknet.

Mr. Zuckerberg by getting inspired by his failure and developed code for a new website, and launched Facebook. They initially offered services only to Harvard, and later Mr. Zuckerberg decided to extend it to other schools as well. After getting dropped out of Harvard, he relocated to Silicon Valley and started completing his Facebook project.

In January 2006, during the mission of Facebook, they found many investors and started growing gradually. He became the youngest billionaire at the age of 23 and launched the Facebook platform.

Gradually, the application got associated with Millions of users. Soon it became famous and attracted the interest of Millions of people towards it. Facebook launched a project called internet.org with other companies to access good internet services in underdeveloped and developing countries.

In 2012, it acquired photo and video-sharing social media platform - Instagram, and also came up with the mobile messaging app - WhatsApp which attracted a great user base towards it. To ensure the security of social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, it brought an end-to-end encrypted system. He focused on technological innovations for the people. He is the chairman and CEO of FB and lies in the list of richest people of the world.
